Larry R. Ellis

CEO

General Larry Ellis is CEO of ESSE, an Atlanta, Georgia-based company that provides Consulting Services, quality one-stop total Facilities Management and Security Services.

After retiring from the Army in 2004, Larry Ellis joined the Board of Point Blank Solutions and later served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Presently, he serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Board of Regents for Morgan State University in Maryland. In addition, he serves as a director on a number of not-for-profit Boards: The Armed Forces Benefit Association that aids those currently serving, Veterans, and civilian first responders; the Shepherd Center specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries; HINRI focused on bringing servant leadership, compassion and innovation to solving the world’s most difficult health challenges, and the America Korea Friendship Society– a community organization that fosters and strengthen the  relationship between the peoples of the United States and the Republic of Korea. Of late, General Ellis served as a Presidential appointee on the American Battle Monuments Commission, the US Congressionally authorized Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Advisory Committee and as a gubernatorial appointee to the Board of Regents for the University System of Georgia.

General Ellis’ military career included leadership positions across the globe. During the period of his career, 1969 to 2004, he served overseas for almost 15 years. He led units at every level to include the First Armored Division while deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Nations Command in South Korea, the US Pacific Command in Hawaii, and the US European Command in Germany and the Balkans. In addition, he served in senior command and staff positions at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, where he oversaw multi-year programs and budgets in support of national strategic objectives. In 2001, soon after the United States went to war in the Persian Gulf, he was promoted to the rank of Four Star General and served as Commander of the US Army Forces Command headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

General Ellis’ military awards include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the senior parachutist wings. His honors include an Honorary Doctor of Laws, Honorary Master of Strategic Studies, the Indiana University Distinguished Alumni Service Award, the Morgan State University Distinguished Alumni Award, the NAACP National Service Award, the NAACP Frederick Douglass Medal, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the ROCK of the Year Award, the USO Patriot Award and the Outstanding Role Model of the Year Award. General Ellis earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Morgan State University and a Master of Science in Public Health from Indiana University.

Sunny K. Park

Chief Operations Officer

He has served as the company’s Chief Operations Officer since the company was formed in 2005. Park also serves as Chief Executive Officer of General Building Maintenance Inc. which he founded in 1983 and now has branch operations in 18 major U.S. cities and serves as a nationwide facilities maintenance service provider.  Park’s business acumen and leadership has grown GBM to now exceed $34 million in revenue from servicing over 80 million square feet of facility and office space throughout the United States. Park holds several appointed positions and board memberships to include Secretary and Treasurer of the Georgia Ports Authority, USO Council of Georgia, Berry College, Emory University, Shepherd Center, Georgia Public Policy Foundation and the National Museum of Patriotism. He has conducted intensive independent management study with schools such as Indiana University and U.S. Army War College. His honors include 2004 USO Patriot Award, Americanism Medal of Daughters of American Revolution, Patrick Henry Trophy of National Guards, Most Influential Atlantans (Atlanta Business Chronicle) in 2005 and 2006, Small Businessman of the Year award from the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce (1992), Entrepreneur of the Year award (2000) and induction in the Atlanta Business Hall of Fame in 2004.
